Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Today is the 12th day of Christmas the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord. Jesus Christ manifested in the flesh and revealed unto the Gentiles as Savior of the World. The Magi (Three Kings) come to worship the Christ Child. They bring gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. These gifts reveal Christ to be the eternal King, the Savior of the World.
According to tradition Catholic Homes were blessed on this day in the honor of the Magi, Caspar, Melchior, and Balthazar. Their insignia (written in chalk) is placed above the front door of the home 20+C+M+B+19.
“May the splendor of your majesty, O Lord, we pray, shed its light upon our hearts, that we may pass through the shadows of this world and reach the brightnerss of our eternal home. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, Forever and ever. Amen.”
Blessings on the Feast of the Epiphany.
In Christ,
Fr. Thomas
